Could a Marketing Grant Help Your Grooming Business Grow? Discover the PETBIZS Programme

Your expertise deserves to be seen. For grooming professionals with a clear communication project, the PETBIZS marketing grants programme may offer an opportunity worth exploring.
Running a grooming business requires more than practical skills. It also means helping pet owners understand your services, recognise your expertise and appreciate the care behind every appointment.
At the International Grooming Society, we believe that building a sustainable profession includes helping groomers communicate the value of their work while respecting their own health, their capacity and animal welfare.
What does PETBIZS offer?
PETBIZS advertises five marketing grant categories for small pet businesses:
Funding category | Advertised amount |
Facebook and Instagram advertising — Meta Ads | $1,500 |
Google Ads | $2,000 |
Reddit Ads | $1,500 |
Content creation | $2,000 |
Event promotion | $3,000 |
The programme is presented as non-repayable funding for registered, verified pet businesses, including groomers, trainers, pet sitters and boarding facilities. PETBIZS says its assessment focuses on the clarity of the applicant’s marketing goals rather than business size or revenue.
The funding is specifically intended for marketing activities; it is not advertised as general support for equipment purchases or everyday operating expenses.
Making the value of grooming visible
For a grooming business, better marketing can mean much more than filling additional appointments. It can help attract clients who understand your approach, explain your pricing and establish realistic expectations before an animal enters the salon.
Consider a series of short videos introducing a puppy’s first grooming visit. Or professional photographs showing how your workspace accommodates different needs. Educational content could explain why some dogs require breaks, why regular coat maintenance matters or how owners can prepare their pets for grooming.
These are ideas suggested by the IGS, rather than projects confirmed as eligible by PETBIZS. Any proposed spending would need to meet the programme’s requirements.
The broader opportunity is to make professional knowledge visible. A finished haircut shows one aspect of your work. Thoughtful communication can also reveal the preparation, observation, patience and judgement behind it.
How do you apply?
The application form requests information about the applicant and business, including an active website, years in operation, country and local area.
Applicants must select a funding category, explain their main marketing challenge and outline how they would use the money. PETBIZS states that applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and selected applicants are contacted by email. Submitting an application does not guarantee funding.
Before completing the form, consider four questions:
What do you want to communicate? Identify a specific service, approach or area of expertise.
Who do you want to reach? Describe the owners and local community you hope to connect with.
What would you fund? Set out practical activities and a realistic budget.
What would success look like? Think about suitable enquiries, appropriate bookings or better client understanding.
A focused project is easier to explain and evaluate. “Create a short educational video series for new puppy owners in our area” gives a clearer direction than “improve our social media”.
A note for our international community
The information reviewed does not establish eligibility for every country. A country field in the application form should not be taken as confirmation of worldwide availability.
Before investing time in a proposal, ask PETBIZS to confirm your geographical eligibility, permitted expenses and payment arrangements.
Growth that supports your way of working
For the IGS, business development should support a professional life that is both rewarding and sustainable.
Greater visibility can help groomers explain their boundaries, communicate their expertise and build relationships with clients who value their approach. The aim can be a better balance between the services you offer, the clients you attract and the working conditions you want to maintain.
