Why Today’s Groomers Need Scientific Education to Stand Out
For many years, grooming was viewed primarily as an artistic craft; a profession driven by manual skills, visual results, and experience-based intuition. But the global grooming industry has shifted. It is no longer enough to create a beautiful finish; professionals are increasingly expected to understand the biological, emotional, and dermatological needs of the animals entrusted to them.
This worldwide transformation did not emerge spontaneously...

Grooming as an Act of Care, Not Constraint
Toward a New Vision of the Grooming Profession Long seen as a purely aesthetic or hygienic activity, grooming is evolving. More and more professionals now choose to view it as a true act of care , a moment of connection, attention, and respect for living beings. At the heart of Holistic Grooming , this perspective profoundly transforms the relationship between the groomer, the animal, and their guardian. Understanding the Difference Between Care and Constraint The word “care”

Matting: understand, prevent, act
Matting happens when dead hair and moisture get trapped in the coat instead of being released. The coat becomes compact, less supple, and the skin can’t breathe well. In winter it’s a real trap: outdoors, matting holds onto cold water and chills the skin; indoors, it blocks airflow and can overheat with the heating on. The result is itching, redness, that damp smell… and a less comfortable pet.

Paw pads & road salt: keeping feet comfy in winter
In winter, paws take the first hit: cold, snow, road salt and tiny grit can irritate the delicate skin between the pads. A gentle routine works best. When you get home, run lukewarm water over the paws to dissolve salt and dirt without rubbing. Then blot dry with a soft towel, including between the toes, so moisture doesn’t stay trapped. Finish with a thin layer of protective balm to nourish the skin and leave a light film that helps on the next walks.

A well-maintained coat for a truly comfortable winter
When it’s cold, the coat works like a real “puffer jacket.” But to protect effectively, it has to stay airy, clean, and supple . The goal isn’t to shorten at all costs, but to prevent knots and compacted undercoat (matting) with gentle, regular care. A maintained coat insulates better, lets the skin breathe, and helps your pet adapt to temperature changes between the outdoors and a heated home. In winter, matting is the enemy of comfort . Outside, it traps moisture and cools

Myth to Deconstruct: “He’ll Get Used to It”
In the grooming world, there are phrases we hear so often that they become almost invisible. One of them, and perhaps one of the most misleading, is: “He’ll get used to it.” At first glance, it sounds harmless. After all, humans and animals alike adapt to new experiences, don’t they? But in reality, this phrase ignores one of the most fundamental aspects of animal well-being: the uniqueness of each individual’s sensory threshold. Why “getting used to it” is a dangerous shortc

What is Holistic Grooming?
When we think about grooming , most people imagine a haircut or a refreshing bath. But grooming is much more than just aesthetics.
