Hi, I’m Monika Petras, a Certified Master Groomer (ICMG) based in Barna, Co. Galway. I’ve been grooming professionally for over a decade, and in that time, I’ve had the chance to compete at both national and international levels, including being awarded Irish Dog Groomer of the Year in 2022. Grooming has always been more than just a job for me, it’s a craft I care deeply about. I take pride in my work, and I’m always looking for ways to improve and grow. Alongside my grooming, I also love supporting and mentoring other groomers, and I regularly get involved in workshops and training.

 

Why I Joined IGS

Joining the International Grooming Society was a natural step in my ongoing commitment to excellence. IGS represents the gold standard in grooming professionalism, offering a global network of peers, world-class education, and an ethical framework I deeply value. I’m honoured to serve as the Ireland representative, where I can both contribute to and learn from this international community, helping to elevate grooming standards
