The DAATA-ICDG Level 2 – Management of Skin and Coat Problems course is designed to equip professional groomers with the ability to recognize and address a wide range of dermatological issues commonly encountered in grooming salons. Participants will learn how to manage dry skin, restore comfort in cases of itchiness and irritation, and adapt protocols for oily skin conditions where excess sebum impacts coat quality and hygiene. Special attention will be given to sensitive and reddened skin, where the choice of gentle products, techniques, and handling becomes critical to avoid further stress. Beyond these frequent conditions, the course also prepares groomers to identify and adapt their practice when facing more complex or uncommon skin and coat problems, such as allergic flare-ups, keratinisation disorders, or cases that require veterinary referral. By integrating knowledge of skin physiology with practical grooming strategies, participants will develop a comprehensive, science-based approach to improve the animal’s comfort, support long-term coat health, and strengthen collaboration between groomer, owner, and veterinarian.
